Generally, the number of cases of car theft was consistently the most sizeable, whereas that of street robbery was always the least. Moreover, the margins among the levels of various crimes had noticeably widened in the end.

Specifically, in 1970, there were 0.4 million incidents of cars being stolen, which was twice the figure for house burglary, whilst less than 0.1 million of street robbery were reported. In the next 20 years, the recorded figure for robbery taking place on streets was unvaried. In comparison, those for the other two crimes had substantial increments, with that of house burglary peaking at 0.70 million or thereabouts and the rate of car theft reaching 1 million in 1990.

Overall, the town had considerably developed in the given span of time, with various tourist amenities being added and the area becoming greener.

In 1990, there was a north-south bound road, named Elvin Street, with a shopping mall on its western side. In the northwest, a resort and golf course were present, with a swimming pool in the southwest. A big expanse of farmland occupied the middle and western regions. Furthermore, there was a sea in the easternmost part and a pier nearby it, connected to Waterfront Street, and shops and a cafe were situated on both sides of it.

Nonetheless, in 2010, several five-star hotels took the place of the resort, and the golf course became larger. The shopping mall expanded, turning into a complex, with a swimming pool area to its south. A new footpath was added to the main road, extending towards the west, where a park area, filled with trees, benches and small waterholes, replaced the farmland. The dock was lengthened towards the south, and additional stores were built to the southern side of Waterfront Street, with a car park being constructed to the north of Elvin Street.
